I had a new car stereo recently installed but it only had bluetooth function missing. This FM bluetooth transmitter has made my car stereo complete. It has FM transmission, plays MP3 from phone and also receives calls. It has microphone built in so you can easily receive calls without needing to hold your phone. Look wise it is very appealing and well made. I also liked the built quality. Its not bad at all. It lights up to a nice blue color when switched on. You can connect this device to your phone just by Plugging the CR225 into your lighter socket. It will pair with your phone quickly. You can play mp3 with your phone and also receive calls easily. You also have a port for usb charging which is great. The device is very sleek and does not take much space. Its just what i wanted for my car. I was lucky to receive this for my honest opinion. I have owned this for about a month and its been working fine until this past week. It still functions but there are times when the connection from my phone to the transmitter becomes unstable and I have to turn off the transmitter and turn it back on in order for the connection to become stable again. Aside from that problem the quality of listening to music is great. Phone calls are clear and crisp. (Posted on 14/04/2015)
Nice product that works well. Review by JD

Excellent product for the money. I purchased an older Mercedes that is not blue tooth enabled and decided I would try this rather than purchasing an expensive phone adaptor (which can cost hundreds of dollars). The primary reason for my purchase was the need for hands free phone communication while driving. For outgoing calls, you do have to use your phone to start (dial or voice activate) but then can hear & talk hands free. For incoming calls, you can answer by simply tapping the top of the CR225. Very nice. As a bonus, I have also enjoy listening to the music on my iPhone stream over the car speakers. Installation was very easy: Just plug August CR225 into outlet (cigarette lighter socket). Link to your Bluetooth via your phone (i.e., have your phone search for Blue Tooth device CR225). If you have an issue, turn your phone Bluetooth off and then back on again - for a clean, new search. Ta-da. (I think my phone was looking for my old car initially)! Once linked, I actually picked out a station number on the CR225 first (you simply turn a dial). THEN I tuned the radio to the same station number that I had selected on the CR225. This worked out very well. Just make sure you do not select a station that has a broadcast (voice or music). You want a 'blank' slate. If you pick up some static, it is from the radio station - not the device. Since you can easily re-tune (to find clearer station), this is a non-issue. I liked this product enough that I just ordered one for my daughter who also drives an older car that is not blue tooth enabled. I had this product up and working within a few minutes... I have made some test calls just to be sure it work and the sound was very clear. I was also heard very well by those I called. (Posted on 08/04/2015)

Great bluetooth receiver to get phone audio to car stereo over FM Review by Great Taste

Typically FM transmitters sound awful. These do not. You'll see this unit under multiple brands, they're all identical except they may be programmed slightly differently (some have the display remain on when in use, others will blank until you hit a button). The short of it is these are a great way to use your phone to get music, navigation, or hands free calling through your car stereo (the microphone isn't great, you'll have to shout some for people to hear you). This is my second unit (different branding) after a first was stolen, would buy again if stolen again. The USB port also provides ample charging to my 5" Android phone when running bluetooth and GPS, so it should charge most phones just fine. One note - you cannot really use this for hands free telephone calls--the microphone barely picks up your voice. (Posted on 01/09/2014)

Actually delivery quite good music quality via FM transmitter Review by Johny Tech Reviewer "Yes?"

First, the FM transmitter was easy to pair, just turn it on, and find it on your phone and choose connect. I love the easy digital knob to rotate and pick the station you need to set it to. The device will automatically come on with your car and goes off when you turn your car off. If you turn the device on and do not connect anything in 10 minutes it will also go to sleep. IT also has a build in battery and you can easy detach it and use it as a portable unit for 2.5 hours. There's also a FWD and RWD button to switch songs. When you get a phone call it you can answer it and after you hang up it will go back to your music. The sound quality of the music being transmitted surprised me, I didn't expect very good sounds coming out of this and it works quiet well. Make sure you find an empty station first on your radio and then tune to that station on the transmitter. Built in USB charging port will let you charge your phone and other mobile devices. Build quality feel a little cheap and the volume knob make some noise when turn. Please note a retail unit was sent to me for a fair and honest review. (Posted on 18/08/2014)
Great way to stream music to your car without wires Review by John Ryan "Scouse in the semi-detached house"

This is a terrific solution to play music from your smartphone in the car. Read on to find out how... What is it? ------------ The August CR225 is a bluetooth device which means you can stream music or audio-books from your smartphone to your car radio speakers wirelessly and without any fuss. You don't even need any special connectors on your car radio - any radio will do, regardless of how old it is. Fantastic device! What's it like? ------------------ It has two bits to it:- * An FM Radio transmitter that sits atop a semi-flexible "gooseneck" arm. This bit connects to your smartphone using a "Bluetooth" connection. Effectively, you "pair" your phone with the device, and it sends music to it, which is then converted to an FM radio signal - broadcast to your radio and speakers. * A little cigarettle lighter charger which contains a USB charging port, and "gooseneck" arm. This is used to power the device. As an added bonus, you can even make hands free calls on the device, while also charging your smartphone using the USB connection. How does it work? --------------------- Assembled in seconds, you plug it into the cigarettle lighter, and press the M button on the top to switch it on. An LED displays the FM frequency the device is broadcasting on (so you can avoid it clashing with local radio stations), and you can adjust the frequency (if for example you hear sound from other stations), using the metal ring at the base. Having selected a frequency, just tune in your radio to the same FM number, and pair your mobile and off you go. Sound quality was surprisingly good, and I listened to music on Spotify using a 4G connection to the mobile without problems. I also made a test phone call using the hands free feature, and sound quality was again surprisingly good. Even in busy traffic, I didn't get any interference from other driver/radio users - a problem I've seen on these kind of devices in the past. What's the other options? ------------------------------ Well, I've tried a number of other options and each have their drawbacks. 1. If you're lucky enough to have an existing top-end car radio with built in bluetooth connectivity, you can just connect your smartphone to the radio directly 2. if you're radio doesn't support bluetooth, but has a USB connection, you can buy a bluetooth connector, and plug that into the USB in the radio. 3. You could buy this one - and use it without any wires. Conclusion -------------- I must admit, I was skeptical of the sound quality I expected on these kind of devices, but was really pleasantly surprised. A great little device, and well worth the money. Disclosure: I was provided this device for an independent, unbiased review. Having said that, when it's this good it's an absolute pleasure to test. Highly Recommended. (Posted on 17/08/2014)
