A little later than expected, we have received the November Freeview update! The update this time around is mostly just some channels moving, with only one new channel and one rebrand in addition.
Ahead of December it surprises me we haven't been inundated with changes to "Christmas" branded channels (Although, I am glad I don't have to type 50+ lines of music channels going Christmas mode!)
As always, make sure you scan for changes with a powerful rooftop aerial so that your EPG is all lined up,
Brand New Freeview Channels November 2024
GREAT! Mystery
A new addition to the GREAT! lineup of genre-specific broadcasting, GREAT! Mystery has landed on Freeview Channel 61.
GREAT! Mystery promises the sort of content you'd expect from the name, filled with murder mysteries and classic "whodunnit" entertainment.
The real kicker is that GREAT! Mystery is one of the Freeview channels technically provided over streaming. You might think that's so it can be simultaneously available on Freeview and Freely, but actually Freely users can only watch GREAT! Mystery if they have an aerial connected!
I am trying to keep an open mind about Freely, but quirks like this don't make it easy! But, I digress.
Channel Rebrands
GREAT! Tv+1
Alongside the new GREAT! Mystery channel, the others are shuffling up to provide better access to the GREAT! TV portal from the Freeview side.
This means GREAT Tv+1 is being changed to GREAT! Player and will now be found at Freeview Channel Number 63.
GREAT! Player is a launcher for all the GREAT! range of channels.
Freeview Channels Moved November 2024
GREAT! Romance Mix
Unsurprisingly, other GREAT! branded channels are hopping around the EPG to accommodate the changes above. GREAT Romance Mix is now found on Freeview Channel 62, rather than the old place at 63.
That's ___ Channels
You thought we'd get through a Freeview update without mentioning at least 3 "That's" changes?
That's Dance MCR, The Manchester broadcast for That's Dance, can now be found at Freeview Channel 79, down from 80. Again, remember this change only effects those of you within range of a Manchester broadcast.
That's TV (UK) MCR and That's TV 2 MCR are moving to Freeview Channel 80 and Freeview Channel 86, respectively.
Finally, That's Christmas MCR (there is is! Had to be a Christmas channel!) is now on Freeview Channel 87.
TV Warehouse
Both TV Warehouse channels are shifting around, with TV Warehouse itself moving to Freeview Channel 88.
TV Warehouse+1 is also on the move, now sitting at Freeview Channel 92.
That's a Wrap
That's all for November, but I'm sure plenty will get rolling as we move into 2025. With more channels joining Freely, partnerships established with Amazon Fire devices and Freeview radio fading away, 2025 could mark the beginning of Freeview winding down for its 2034 deadline.
