Frequently asked questions

What is Bluetooth 5.0?

Bluetooth is the wireless communication method our headphones and earphones use to play your audio, but it comes in different "Versions". Older Bluetooth 4.0+ versions are around half the speed and capacity as modern Bluetooth 5.0+ versions. Bluetooth 5.0 also supports up to 30ms of latency natively, without needing aptX LL like Bluetooth 4.0+ did.

What is aptX, aptX-LL and aptX-HD?

aptX is a Bluetooth codec upgrade from Qualcomm which was prevalent in the Bluetooth 4.0 era. Many Bluetooth 4 products will have these additional protocols. aptX increases stability, aptX-LL lowers latency and aptX-HD allows HD audio. For Bluetooth 5.0+, all these features are included as standard.

What are "True Wireless Earbuds"?

True Wireless Earbuds are wireless from eachother, wireless to the audio source, and finally also charge wirelessly by using a charging case. This makes them "true" wireless as the charging case is the only part ever connected to a wire, never the earbuds.

Why Does Audio Quality Suddenly Change?

All Bluetooth devices rely on Bluetooth bandwidth to send data. If the microphone of a device becomes enabled for whatever reason, be it taking a call or being enabled by an app, then half the Bluetooth bandwidth is reserved for your microphone. This will make incoming audio sound worse for as long as the microphone is sending data. This is not a product fault and is simply a fact of Bluetooth technology.

What is Bone Conduction?

Bone Conduction is an audio tranmission method for headphones and earphones. Bone Conduction uses specific vibrations of your ear to provide sound directly, without having to send the waves through the air first. This measn bone conduction headphones don't need large over-ear padding or even to be inside your ear at all! Just near enough on your head to activate bone conduction.
