Frequently asked questions

What is "High Gain"?

The Gain of an aerial is a measure of how far the range extends in a single direction. For example an aerial with gain of 1dBi is usually omnidirectional, while an aerial with a gain of 28dBi is extremely long range in one specific direction. If you can set up your aerial to face the nearest / best transmitter, then high gain is always better.

Do You Sell Amplified Aerials?

We stock a DTA300 amplified aerial with an LTE filter which stops outside signals like phone lines from interfering, and has a gain of 28dBi. Bear in mind that amplified aerials will needa power supply to function.

Can I Use An Aerial For Freesat?

We do not stock Freesat-compatible devices. Our aerials are for Freeview and terrestrial broadcasts only.

What Can I Get On A Portable Aerial?

Our aerials receive Freeview, Freeview HD and Freeview Radio and many versions can also recieve DAB or DAB+ radio. While the aerials are attuned for DVB and DVB-T channels, other factors such as local geography and interference as well as distance to the transmitter can all affect recieved channels.

Does A Smart TV Need an Aerial?

Some smart TV's have a built-in antenna, but the majority will need an aerial. Check the TV for an "RF In" or "Caoxial aerial" port.
