Description
The August EP410 Bone Conduction Headphones are lightweight, streamlined wireless sports headphones with simple operation and maximised battery life by removing auxiliary functions. Enjoy Bluetooth audio directly to you, with no air-conduction and therefore minimal sound bleed.
The EP410 also feature a microphone and works as a headset for phone calls or AI assistant voice commands, further increasing the autonomy and freedom you have to control your audio, take calls and more all hands-free whilst running, cycling and more.
How Does Bone Conduction Work?
Bone Conduction is an audio technology which sends frequency vibrations directly from the frame of the headset to the oscillatory bones in your ears. Essentially, rather than sound waves travelling through the air, the waves can travel directly to your ear. This means Bone Conduction devices can only be heard by the wearer in most cases, as the sound will not propagate well through the air around them.
Unlike Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones which cover your ears entirely in padding, bone conduction allows an open-ear design which enables greater situational awareness and communication.
The off-ear design makes the Bluetooth earpieces more subtle and discreet, without sacrificing any volume or comfort.
Also, unlike In-Ear Bluetooth headphones, bone conduction doesn't need to intrude inside your ear to provide private audio.
You can read more about Bone Conduction and clarify any potential side-effect worries in our blog here.
Lightweight Headset for Sports and Home
The EP410 refines bone-conduction headphones into a simple, lighter form. The unit contains only what is necessary to ensure a lightweight, long battery life and ease of use. Simply pair your phone or other Bluetooth devices, place the headphones around your head and get on with your day!
(Do not place the earphones inside your ears, they rest in front near your cheek in front of your ears as in our example images)
The unit features simple button inputs for playing/pausing and changing tracks using a multifunctional button so you can interact with your music without losing your rhythm.
Microphone-Enabled for Hands-Free Calling
With private audio thanks to Bone Conduction and a strong Bluetooth 5.3 connection, the EP410s are perfect for phone calls and meetings on the go. Receive important calls whenever you need them without any stress.
The Bluetooth Earpiece has no large over-ear padding and rests discreetly, hardly visible from the front at all. This makes them perfect for a professional atmosphere where you need to be alert to noises around you as your ears are unobstructed. Answer queries, chat and take calls all seamlessly.
Please Note: When the microphone is enabled Bluetooth audio will be lowered in quality/volume to ensure the function of the microphone. This is a feature of Bluetooth and not a product fault.
Designed for Daily Use
The minimalist design creates an enclosed device which is IPX4 waterproof, and so can withstand minor splashes and rain.
An included USB-C Charging cable recharges the headset in under 2 hours, easily topped up at work or in the evening. One charge will last for up to 7 hours of use (Music or Calls) or up to 26 Days on standby. This long standby time helps to make sure that you have a charge when you really need it.
Please Note that this IPX4 rating is only valid whilst the charging port protector (Included) is fully inserted. Do not remove the protector in wet environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does bone conduction technology work in the August EP410, and is it safe for long-term use?
Bone conduction technology sends sound vibrations directly to the inner ear via the bones in your skull, bypassing the eardrums. Unlike traditional headphones, the EP410 sits just in front of your ears, leaving them open to hear surrounding sounds. This design allows for greater situational awareness, especially during activities like running or cycling. Bone conduction is considered safe for long-term use, as it doesn't obstruct or intrude into the ear canal, reducing the risk of ear fatigue or damage. For more information about the potential side effects and benefits of bone conduction technology, check out our blog here.
Can I use the August EP410 Bone Conduction Headphones in the rain or while exercising?
Yes, the August EP410 is designed for active use and has an IPX4 waterproof rating, meaning it can handle minor splashes, sweat, and light rain. However, the waterproofing is effective only when the charging port protector is fully inserted. These headphones are ideal for running, cycling, or outdoor exercise, but we recommend avoiding heavy rain or full submersion in water.
How is the sound quality of the EP410 for phone calls and music, and is there any sound leakage?
The August EP410 offers private audio through bone conduction, which typically minimizes sound leakage. This means that in most cases, only the wearer will hear the audio. However, the sound quality may be slightly lower during phone calls as the Bluetooth microphone prioritizes call clarity, which can reduce music volume and quality. This is a standard Bluetooth feature, not a product issue. For music, the headphones deliver clear sound without blocking your ears, allowing for both good audio quality and awareness of your surroundings.
How long does the battery last on the August EP410, and how quickly can it be recharged?
The August EP410 has a battery life of up to 7 hours of continuous use for music or phone calls and can last up to 26 days on standby. The headphones use a USB-C charging port and can be fully recharged in under 2 hours, making them easy to top up between uses. This long battery life ensures the headphones are ready for both daily workouts and longer periods of inactivity without needing frequent charging.
