Frequently asked questions

What is the "RF Receiver"?

Our presentation remotes use an RF Receiver rather than conencting via Bluetooth or Infrared, as RF allows connection at longer ranges and through thicker surfaces. A "Radio Frequency" receiver is pre-paired to the remote, and automatically sends controls to the connected PC. This means minimal set-up and instant control. IR remotes would need direct line of sight, whereas an RF remote can be used on stage to control a PC hidden in the wings.

What is the "App Switcher" Hotkey?

Some of our remotes feature a hotkey called "App-Switcher" which is simply a macro for ALT+TAB. ALT+TAB on a Windows PC allows you to cycle through opened applications, allowing more dynamic and engaging presentations with minimal interference for changing to videos, reports, websites and more.

Where is the USB Receiver?

Please be aware the USB RF receiver for these devices is stored inside the unit, usually in the battery compartment or a slot in the bottom of the laser pointer.

What is "Air Mouse" features?

Some of our remotes can act as an "Air Mouse". This allows direct control over your PC's mouse pointer so you don't have to rely on pre-set inputs. Navigate to search bars, click hyperlinks and more as if you were at your PC. To use air mouse mode, hold the air mouse button and then gesture to move the mouse. Remember to let go of the air mouse button when talking so your mouse cursor isn't dancing all over the screen!
