Another month, another Freeview shake-up! And this time it's a long one.
With huge changes to fan-favourite channels on the UKTV network as well as radio channels moved for over 20 local stations, there's a lot of change this month on your Freeview EPG.
Make sure you retune to see these updates!
New Freeview Channels July 2024
First, as always, we have a new channel launch!
GINX TV
The brand-new channel GINX TV is landing on Freeview Channel 296, up in the streaming / IPTV section. GINX TV promises a host of video-game and entertainment-focused shows, from weekly news roundups to reviews and creative content based on videogames new and old.
Freeview Channel Names Changed July 2024
In an unexpected rebrand, all UKTV network channels are changing name! Jumping on the "Brand names which are a single letter" trend, UKTV is now just "U", with the partner channels similarly named.
All the new "U&..." channels are identical to their old counterparts, and they haven't moved on the guide, so it should be familiar to you apart from the names!
U&Dave
Dave, the comedy and quiz-show channel on Freeview Channel 19 is renamed to U&Dave to suit the new branding from "U" (Formerly UKTV).
U&Drama
Drama, the drama channel on Freeview Channel 20 is renamed to U&Drama to suit new branding from "U".
U&W
W, the OG UKTV channel on Freeview Channel 25, is now U&W to suit new branding from "U". The fact the channel has gone from "watch" to "W" to "U&W" is amusing to me.
U&Yesterday
Yesterday, airing loosely "historical" programmes like Bangers and Cash or Find it, Fix it, Flog it on Freeview Channel 27, is now U&Yesterday to suit rebranding from "U".
Catchup Channels
U&DaveJaVu, U&Drama+1 and U&Yesterday+1 at Freeview Channels 57, 60 and 74 respectively are the new versions of the non-"U" originals. Each show content an hour timeshifted from the original.
I am incredibly thankful that "U" allowed Dave's channel to stay as DaveJaVu rather than change to Dave+1, as it is one of the greatest channel names on the EPG.
That's 80's
They're at it again! The "That's" lot are chopping and changing channel names!
That's 60's from Freeview Channel 75 has become "That's 80's", and you can expect content to shift itself a couple of decades forward.
That's 80's MCR
Similarly, the Manchester version of That's 60's MCR is becoming That's 80's MCR and can be found regionally on Freeview Channel 77.
Freeview Channels Moved July 2024
Next up in the July update for Freeview we have 5 channels dancing up and down the channel list, but nothing too fancy.
Seen On TV
The shopping channel Seen On TV is bumping up (down?) to Freeview Channel 79 from its previous rank at 94.
That's TV 2 MCR
The regional channel That's TV 2 MCR is moving to Freeview Channel 87 from the old position at 92.
That's Memories MCR
The regional channel That's Memories MCR has wandered to Freeview Channel 88 from the higher channel of 95.
TV Warehouse
The shopping channel TV Warehouse is moving to Freeview Channel 92, leaving 87 available for That's TV 2 MCR.
TV Warehouse +1
The time-shifted shopping channel TV Warehouse +1 is now shown on Freeview Channel 95, leaving the old place at 88 available for That's Memories MCR.
Freeview Radio Stations Moved July 2024
A final hurdle for this mammoth of a Freeview update is the Freeview radio channel changes. I have grouped these, as there are too many to do individually.
We have seen a lot of cancellations and closures in the Freeview radio space the last month, so the fact these are moving may be a shift in the landscape to prepare for more departures from our Freeview radio guide.

Remember to Retune!
That's all for this week (admittedly a huge update to the EPG!) so make sure to rescan your TV and set top boxes with a powerful rooftop aerial to receive all your changes. Particularly those who use Freeview radio, as the mass exodus to channels 710 - 717 means many stations will be out of place if you do not scan them in now.
Until the next one, have a fantastic summer!
